sup01 | According to several authors (Rivas-Martínez et al. 2002a, 2011; Brullo et al. 2008), this syntaxonomic concept should be considered a part of the Canarian pine forests of the Cytiso-Pinetea. However, this suggestion lacks both floristic as well as vegetation-structural logic. This unit is not a forest (unlike the Cytiso-Pinetea) and it is analogous to the Mediterranean retamal of the Cytisetea scopario-striati. (L. Mucina).
