Of the two associations assigned to this alliance in the protologue (Braun-Blanquet & De Leeuw 1936: 371−373) only the Puccinellietum maritimae Br.-Bl. et De Leeuw 1936 is validly described, hence becoming automatically the holotypus of the Puccinellio maritimae-Salicornion herbaceae Br.-Bl. et De Leeuw 1936. (L. Mucina).
