cer03 | Ahti (1961) and Santesson (1966) showed that the name Cladonia sylvatica (L.) Hoffm. was wrongly employed in the identification literature for the species Cladonia arbuscula (Wallr.) Flot. The name Cladonia sylvatica (L.) Hoffm. cannot be interpreted as different from C. rangiferina (L.) G.H. Web. and is now ruled as suppressed (International Code of Botanical Nomenclature art. 56, Appendix VI). Thus the name Cladonion sylvaticae has to be corrected to Cladonion arbusculae (ICPN art. 43): Cladonion arbusculae Klement 1949 corr. Bültmann nom. corr. hoc loco (original name: Cladonion silvaticae Klement 1949: 12), lectotypus hoc loco: Cladonietum mitis Klement 1947 (Klement 1947: 296–297). (H. Bültmann).
