que07 | J. Pallas prefers to separate northern and southern temperate forests at the level of alliances (Pallas in Bohn et al. 2003: 250−253). However, the floristic differences between these two units (Vaccinio myrtilli-Quercion petraeae and Agrostio-Quercion petraeae s.str., respectively) are rather weak, and perhaps more appropriate to be recognised at the suballiance level.
