Umbilicarietalia Oberd. ex Klika et Hadač 1944
rhi04 | The name 'Umbilicarietalia Oberd.' ex Klika & Hadač 1944 (Klika & Hadač 1944: 252) is used in a broad sense, without a taxon epithet. It includes the alliances 'Rhizocarpion alpinum Frey 1933' and 'Rhizocarpion montanum Černohorský et Hadač in Klika et Hadač 1944' (both illegitimate names; ICPN art. 34),the 'Umbilicarion cylindricae Frey 1933', the 'Umbilicarion hirsutae Černohorský et Hadač in Klika et Hadač 1944' (both legitimate and validly published names), as well as the 'Rhizocarpion lavati Hadač in Klika et Hadač 1944' and the 'Dermatocarpion rivulorum Hadač in Klika et Hadač 1944' (both invalidly published names; ICPN art. 2b). Creveld (1981) proposed the 'Umbilicarion cylindricae Gams 1927' as the nomenclatural type of the order. However, the name used by Gams (1927: 233), 'Gyrophorion', is a nomen nudum and thus cannot serve as type. From Klika et Hadač (1944) we select here the Umbilicarion cylindricae Frey 1933 (Frey 1933: 40-41, 43) as the new type (lectotypus hoc loco) of the Umbilicarietalia Oberd. ex Klika et Hadač 1944. (H. Bültmann).
